The MakeX Robotics 2019 New York Open will be held for the first time in North America on October 13th (Columbus Day long weekend). Participants in this competition are students aged 6 to 13. It is better if students understand Scratch programming (but not required). The number of students in each team is 1–2. Each team must include at least 1 instructor (can Parents). The winners of the New York Open do not need to go through multiple rounds to reach the final global finals, but directly get tickets to participate in the Shenzhen Global Finals at the end of this year.

The theme of the 2020 season is “Future Vision”. The “Future Vision” competition has three different levels, Spark level(for age 6 to age 13) is for students who like to build the project, and compete on project-based theme. Starter level (for age 6 to age 13) is the entry-level robotics competition, the automatic control phase, and the manual control phase. Challenge level (for age 11 to age 18) is for the robotics team with some previous experience.

For Starter competition, competitors need to use Makeblock’s Mbot robot ( https://www.makeblock.com/steam-kits/mbot ) to complete the designated task within 4 minutes to get the competition score. (Refer to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXHWVUYLxf0)

This year, we will host at least two MakeX competition at New York tristate area, one is the 2020 MakeX New York Championship competition, the second one will be 2020 MakeX North America Championship New York competition.
